Two Elkhart, Indiana, Police Officers, Cory Newland, Josha Titus, Charged With Federal Civil Rights Offense
(STL.News) – Cory Newland, 35, and Joshua Titus, 30, officers with the Elkhart, Indiana, Police Department, were indicted Thursday by a federal grand jury in Hammond for using excessive force against an arrestee.
The indictment charges Newland and Titus with a single count of deprivation of rights under color of law, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 242, for using unreasonable force against arrestee “M.L.”
