Maryland Governor Proclaims Lunar New Year Day

ANNAPOLIS, MD (STL.NewsGovernor Larry Hogan today issued a proclamation recognizing Feb. 1, 2022 as Lunar New Year Day in Maryland.  The governor was joined by First Lady Yumi Hogan to celebrate the Year of the Black Tiger and the many contributions of Asian American communities to the state.

Maryland is home to more than 400,000 Asian Americans.  According to the traditional Chinese calendar, this year is the 4,720th Lunar New Year.
